VIJENAC TUNNEL BREAKTHROUGH CEREMONY
A ceremony marking the final breakthrough of the Vijenac Tunnel, and the completion of Stage 1 construction works along the entire length of the tunnel, was held on the 1st of March, the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The FBiH Prime Minister, Nermin Nikšić, FBiH Motorways CEO Ensad Karić, and the CEO of Euro-Asfalt, Hamed Ramić, addressed the gathering, which also included the Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and the BiH Foreign Minister, Zlatko Lagumdžija, ministers of transport and communications of BiH and the FBiH, Damir Hadžić and Enver Bijedić, the Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Fikret Plevljak, as well as the representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as the main financier of the project.
The tunnel breakthrough was accomplished by a consortium from Bosnia and Herzegovina led by Euro-Asfalt Sarajevo, and also including Hidrogradnja Sarajevo, ŽGP Sarajevo, Entea Sarajevo and Butmir Sarajevo. For more information about the project, please visit: https://euro-asfalt.ba/tunel.php
