History

Euro-Asfalt Ltd. is a company based in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 1992-1995 war caused great destruction and desolation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Aside from the ruins, the war also left many experienced, highly-skilled and well-educated civil engineers without employment.

Recognizing this potential, we decided to start a company and seek out the best among these engineers, technicians and experts. Thus, in 1996, Euro-Asfalt Ltd. was formed.

Today the company has nearly 600 permanent employees with years of experience on the local and international markets. Since its inception, the company has maintained a branch office in Germany, where it has earned a shining reputation working in the final construction stages of several world-renowned building projects, such as the Lufthansa Training Centre, Allianz Arena, Porsche Museum, Munich Airport, Sky, Premiere, RTL Cologne, and the Egyptian Museum, to name just a few.

A branch office was established in Libya in 2005, focusing mainly on road surfacing and civil engineering. This branch of our company was involved in the construction and reconstruction of primary public roads in Benghazi and Tripoli.

In 2006, Euro-Asfalt Ltd. formed a subsidiary company, BH Asfalt Ltd. Its asphalt plant in Breza – a fusion of cutting-edge technology and environmental responsibility – is fully automated and in line with production standards. In 2008, our company obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certificate. By the end of 2009, what had by that time become the Euro-Asfalt Ltd. Group established another subsidiary, D Inženjering Ltd., which focuses on engineering, structural design and supervision. A new branch office in the United Arab Emirates was established the following year. Our first construction project in the UAE was an office high-rise in Abu Dhabi.

In 2010, Euro-Asfalt Ltd. added road and motorway tunnels to its portfolio. Just as we did in other fields, we acquired state-of-the-art tunnel building equipment. In late 2010 we began the extraction of raw minerals from the Moščanica quarry in Zenica for the manufacturing of concrete, aggregates, asphalt and other construction materials. In December 2010, we obtained the new ISO 9001:2008 certification, and in January 2013 we implemented the ISO 14001:2009 environmental management system standard.

We also constructed the Belquize Tunnel in Albania and established branch offices in Slovenia and Montenegro. Currently we are engaged in the construction of the 5.7-kilometer-long motorway between Draženci and Gruškovje – the final section of the future Hamburg-Thessaloniki motorway.

The combination of these factors has produced some of our finest references – the Sarajevo western entrance motorway, Bilješevo-Kakanj section of the A1 motorway (Corridor 5c) between Sarajevo and Zenica, reconstruction and rehabilitation of Hotel Bristol, reconstruction of roads in Sarajevo and Zenica-Doboj cantons, toll gates on the existing Corridor 5c motorway sections, Mihrivode housing development, Sarajevo City Centre, etc.

We also constructed the Belquize Tunnel in Albania and established branch offices in Slovenia and Montenegro. Currently we are engaged in the construction of the 5.7-kilometer-long motorway between Draženci and Gruškovje – the final section of the future Hamburg-Thessaloniki motorway.

In the future we plan to continue growing and advancing in all relevant fields in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad – notably in Germany, the United Arab Emirates, etc.
