The Chief Executive Officer of Euro-Asfalt Sarajevo, Hamed Ramić, has been awarded the title of Top Manager in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and deservedly so. At the same time, Euro-Asfalt has once more been declared the top company in the category of construction industry – Euro Manager. SIGNING CEREMONY FOR VLAKOVO-LEPENICA CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT
Turkish company Cengiz Insaat will be tasked to construct another 10.1 kilometres of motorways in Bosnia and Herzegovina between Vlakovo and Lepenica. This way the company will be in charge of the entire 20-kilometre Vlakovo-Tarčin section, which is already under construction and should be opened by the autumn of 2014.
The construction agreement worth more than 350 million KM was signed today at the FBiH Government building by the FBiH Motorways CEO, Ensad Karić, and the CEO of Cengiz Insaat, Kemal Unluer. The time for completion of the project is 20 months. According to Karić, one of the most positive aspects of this agreement is the fact that seven companies from BiH will be engaged as partners to the Turkish company Cengiz. Domestic companies will have the opportunity to work on a project worth 200 million KM. This is so far the highest amount for a 5c Corridor motorway construction contract, as well as the most expensive construction project entrusted to domestic companies.
With the signing of this agreement, Karić said, the total value of ongoing motorway projects has reached 472 million euros. 36 kilometres of motorways are currently under construction in seven building sites. The remaining two biddings (Stage 2 of the Vijenac tunnel and the Svilaj-Odžak section) are still short by about 90 million euros. The FBiH Motorways are currently working on securing the remaining 307 million euros for completing the ongoing construction projects, and reaching 100 kilometres of completed motorways by 2014.
Unluer stated that his company has so far completed 15% of construction works on the Vlakovo-Tarčin section, which should be seen as an achievement having in mind the official starting date of the project, as well as the speed with which the preparations were completed.
EURO-ASFALT TAKES PART IN JOBS FAIR
Our company took part in the Jobs Fair, which is traditionally organized by the Employment Bureau in partnership with Posao.ba. The aim of this fair is to gather employers in one place to present their job openings, and to introduce companies to potential employees.
Euro-Asfalt has encountered an excellent response from applicants, with over three hundred submitted job applications. The Jobs Fair took place on Friday, the 21st of December, at the Bosnian Cultural Centre in Sarajevo.
AUDIENCE WITH DEPUTY RULER OF DUBAI
On Friday, the 14th of December, a delegation of BBI Bank, BBI Real Estate and Euro-Asfalt – members of the BBI VIP Business Club –had an audience with the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates Finance Minister, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During the audience, the deputy head of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum was especially interested in the investment environment in our country and the possibility of investing in the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Together with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), BBI Bank is co-organising the Sarajevo Business Forum, the largest investment conference in Southeast Europe. BBI Bank CEO Amer Bukvić shared his experiences related to the organisation o this conference, and presented the opportunities offered to foreign investors.
He underlined the importance of Sarajevo as the economic hub of Southeast Europe and a gateway to the East. Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum inquired about investments in agriculture and grain production. He expressed willingness to visit BiH and take part in the Sarajevo Business Forum.
ZENICA PRIMARY URBAN THOROUGHFARE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction works on the Primary Urban Thoroughfare in Zenica are proceeding with the preparation of the thoroughfare course, including the preparation of subgrade for Bojin Vir roundabout, construction of retaining walls along the main course, and paving of access roads for the M1 Bridge. The paving of the M1 Bridge surface layer has been completed. As for the M2 Bridge, workers are demolishing the existing structure which is to be replaced by the new bridge. Preparations for the incremental launching of the Lukovo Polje Bridge are also under way. Paving of the base course has been completed on the Kočeva Bridge, Crkvice roundabout and Goražde St. Works are nearing completion on the remaining 300 metres of Asko Borić St, including the installation of collectors and plumbing, subgrade filling, and construction of kerbs and footways. SUHODOL-TARČIN MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction works on the 5c Corridor motorway section Suhodol-Tarčin are proceeding according to schedule. The earthworks have been completed, and currently the work is advancing on the motorway bed. The construction of RC structures is also under way – a bridge over Kalašnica River, one underpass, and four culverts.
As for the Tarčin junction, the earthworks have been completed and currently the workers are constructing the road bed. This construction project also includes the redirection of Kalašnica River. Below you may find a photo gallery of this project.
VIJENAC TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Euro-Asfalt is in charge of construction works on the southern side of both tubes of the Vijenac tunnel. The tunnel is part of the 5c Corridor motorway. The excavation of the top heading in the left tube has reached 1,522.20 metres, the bench 1,166 metres, the base 840 metres, and the invert arch 610 metres.
As for the right tube, the top heading has reached 1,477 metres, the bench 1,163 metres, the base 924 metres, and the invert arch 658 metres. The excavations are also complete on four cross-passages. Below you may find a photo gallery of this project.
KRAVICE-BIJAČA MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The construction works of the 5c Corridor motorway section Kravice-Bijača are currently focused on the drainage system, cutting, embankment construction and subbase filling, surface water runoff management, construction of kerbs, kerb outlets and paving, pouring of concrete foundations for lamp posts, construction of the protective fence, assembling of support scaffolding for Podine flyover on the main motorway course, construction of the canopy and preparations for the pouring of RC foundations of the canopy. SUHODOL-TARČIN MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The presently ongoing construction works on the 5c Corridor motorway section Suhodol-Tarčin include the clearing of shrubs and trees of up to 10 centimetres in diameter, cutting of trees with trunks between 31 and 50 centimetres in diameter, excavation of the surface soil along the entire course of the motorway as well as the slip road B, filling of rock aggregates for the booster pump service road, filling of profile embankments and cutting of the booster pump road, excavation of Tarčin junction right side underpass, surface cutting for the cross-section 305 culvert with a gravel embankment and a concrete subbase, surface cutting for hydraulic structures, setting of rebars, removal of surface soil, and pouring of concrete.

R-445 – ILIJAŠ ROAD RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE
In the past weeks, Euro-Asfalt has been in charge of the reconstruction of R-445 road through Ilijaš. The project is proceeding according to schedule. Following the completion of preparation works, the workers moved on to paving the 1,100-metre road section stretching from the Orthodox Church to the grade crossing, as well as the building of rock aggregate verges.
