VIJENAC TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION DECEMBER UPDATE
The present construction stage of the Vijenac tunnel project includes the excavations around the 180-metre mark of the left tunnel tube’s northern side. Preparations are under way for the excavation of the foundation and the invert arch of the tunnel, which is scheduled to begin in January 2012. Drilling has so far taken place in four soil categories.

KRAVICE-BIJAČA MOTORWAY DECEMBER UPDATE
When it comes to the construction of Kravice-Bijača motorway section, in December the project focused on the filling of embankments with a daily average of more than 8,000 cubic metres of rock aggregates, as well as the construction of a 2,000 mm culvert, and the underpasses Supet and Galići.
Apart from these activities, workers are also proceeding with the relocation of pipelines. The project is progressing according to schedule.
DRIVUŠA-GORICA MOTORWAY DECEMBER UPDATE
The following construction works have been under way at the A1 motorway section between Drivuša and Gorica: transportation, filling and rolling of the rock embankment along the course of the motorway, removal and disposal of cut-off drains long the river Bosna, and the construction of retaining walls (resoiling) at certain sections of the motorway course.
At the Drivuša toll station building site, workers are performing excavations for the relocation of the 160 mm pipeline under the plaza, as well as the filling of 0—32 mm graded aggregates around the plaza foundation beams. Upcoming tasks include the installation of drainage systems along the motorway course and the Drivuša toll station, construction of cable ducts, and the stabilization of the Gorica landslide. The project is proceeding according to schedule.
VIJENAC TUNNEL REACHES 150-METRE MARK
As of the 10th of December 2011, the excavation of the right tube of Vijenac Tunnel, which is being performed by Euro-Asfalt Ltd, has reached the 150-metre mark. Works are progressing according to schedule. The company is planning to increase the daily quota for excavations. Below you may find the latest photo updates from the construction site.
CONSTRUCTION OF KRAVICE-BIJAČA MOTORWAY
The construction of Kravice-Bijača motorway is proceeding according to plan. After the initial stages which included clearing of the motorway course, removal of trees and shrubs, excavation of the surface soil, and setting-up the mobile laboratory, in November the works focused on land surveying and cross-section marking of future embankments and cuttings. Workers are also extracting the rock aggregate and filling the embankments. Preparations are also under way for the construction of road maintenance and control centre, as well as the relocation of power lines and water pipes.
MIHRIVODE DEVELOPMENT CONSTRUCTION
Construction work on the Mihrivode housing development is currently under way in all three buildings, as well as the surrounding area. The work is proceeding according to schedule. The buildings are in the final stages of construction. Building 1 is undergoing wall and floor tiling, installation of handrails, apartment doors, interior doors and carpentry. The installation of sanitary wares and fittings is expected to commence soon.
The construction works in Building 2 include tiling, installation of elevators, wall plastering ad painting, installation of gas pipes, and finishing touches on the facade. In Building 3, work is progressing on tiling, wall plastering and painting, and installation of dropped ceilings. Works on the surrounding area include paving of access roads and footways, installation of street lights, and laying of gas pipes.
FIRST 100-METRE MILESTONE IN VIJENAC TUNNEL
The excavation of Vijenac tunnel has reached the first 100-metre milestone. The works are proceeding according to schedule, and the excavation is expected to continue at the same pace. The estimated daily progress for the current soil category is 1.5 metres, but our company is drilling two metres per day. Below you may find the latest photo updates from this construction site.
COMPLETION OF ROUNDABOUT IN DOBRINJA NEIGHBOURHOOD
The construction of a new roundabout at the crossing of X and G Transversal Roads in Dobrinja neighbourhood has been successfully completed. The project was finished within schedule, and involved the complete construction of the roundabout, public utility infrastructure, and connections with the existing roads. The project also included the construction of the trolleybus overhead wires and pylons.
VIJENAC TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION
78.8 metres of the top heading of Vijenac tunnel have been excavated so far. Presently the drilling is proceeding through the C3 soil category. The bench excavation is proceeding according to plan and the top-heading-and-bench technique.
Workers have also completed one segment of the invert arch with sprayed concrete, and have finished the excavation and reinforcement of the cutting approach. They also continued with the arranging of the building site. The project is proceeding according to schedule.
DRIVUŠA-GORICA MOTORWAY OCTOBER UPDATE
The following construction works are under way: filling of rock aggregate embankments (0-300), filling and rolling of the motorway course, construction of a 2,000 mm cylinder culvert with a culvert end, construction of a 2,000 mm cylinder culvert with access manholes, construction of a 97-metre long retaining wall, laying of Reno Mattresses, building of retaining walls and resoiling over the mattresses, construction of RC access manholes for culverts and wastewater drainage, stabilization of the Gorica landslide, excavation of surface soil and its disposal at a designated landfill, filling, gravelling and rolling of the Drivuša toll station plaza, building of retaining walls and resoiling of slopes.
