KRAVICE-BIJAČA MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The ongoing construction tasks on the 5c Corridor motorway section Kravice-Bijača include surface cutting, embankment construction, filling of subgrade and subbase layers, paving of the motorway and local roads, placing of kerb stones and gully grates, laying of cables, pouring of concrete foundations for light poles, and the construction of Podine and Zvirići flyovers. BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION WORKS ON SUHODOL-TARČIN MOTORWAY
Last week the joint venture of Euro-Asfalt Sarajevo and Cengiz Insaat from Turkey began the construction works on the motorway section between Suhodol and Tarčin. The construction site has been equipped with the necessary heavy machinery. The construction of access roads is under way, along with the zoning of areas for construction site infrastructure, removal of surface soil and its disposal at a designated landfill, construction of subbase for the construction site, evaluation of the existing survey markings and placement of new ones along the main course of the motorway and the planned local roads.

RECONSTRUCTION OF TRAMWAY TRACKS COMPLETE
The reconstructed section of the Sarajevo tramway tracks between Baščaršija and the Holiday Inn Hotel was officially opened on the 25th of June, 2012. The renovation of the 2,200-metre tramway section was completed a week ahead of schedule. The opening ceremony for the reconstructed tramway section was hosted by Sarajevo Canton Transport Minister Haris Lulić, Sarajevo Mayor Alija Behmen, and CEO of the cantonal public utility company GRAS, Haris Kadić.
GGM ZENICA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The following construction works on the Primary Urban Thoroughfare in Zenica have been under way in June: relocation of underground utility installations at Bojin Vir, completion of all construction on Metalurg roundabout except for the installation of light poles, paving of footways and kerbs along the entire repaved length of Asko Borić St, pavement milling and subbase replacement in Goražde St, construction of new manholes for the relocation of underground utility installation at roundabouts Drveni Most and Crkvice, raising of support scaffolding between piers 1 and 2 of the M1 Bridge, expansion of piers 1 and 2 of the Lukovo Polje Bridge, and waterproofing of the Kočeva Bridge.

KRAVICE-BIJAČA MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The construction of the 5c Corridor motorway section Kravice-Bijača is proceeding according to schedule. The hard rock surface cutting has been completed, while the embankment construction is nearly finished. Works are under way on the central drainage system, as well as the filling of subgrade and subbase layers of parallel roads, the construction of duct cables, installation of electrical substations, pouring of concrete foundations for light poles, and the subbase construction along the main motorway course. RENOVATION AND OVERHAUL OF TRAMWAY TRACKS
The renovation and overhaul of the tramway tracks in Sarajevo is proceeding according to schedule. Two intersections – Marijin Dvor and the Institute of Hygiene – have been repaved. Work is continuing on the tramway section between the Institute of Hygiene and the Orthodox Church in Baščaršija.
This section is being prepared for paving by injecting concrete with special admixtures under the tramway tracks, constructing the RC fillings between the tracks, and setting up the drainage system. Below you may find the latest photo updates of this project.
GGM ZENICA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction of the Primary Urban Thoroughfare (Glavna gradska magistrala – GGM) Zenica is proceeding according to schedule. So far the workers have completed the relocation of underground utility installations and the construction of manholes. The plateau in front of the stadium in Asko Borić St has been repaved, while the rest of this street is being prepared for paving. The paving of Metalurg roundabout has been completed, and workers are now installing street lights around this roundabout.
The relocation of underground utility installations is under way at Drveni Most roundabout, along with the construction of manholes. In Goražde St the workers are milling the existing pavement, replacing the subbase and building the retaining walls. At the Kočeva Bridge, the pouring of concrete has been completed, and workers are now installing waterproofing systems. Other works include the excavation of foundations for the Pier 3 of the M1 Bridge, together with the raising of scaffolding, the reinforcing of Pier 1 foundations and the excavation of Pier 2 foundations on the Lukovo Polje Bridge. RECONSTRUCTION OF R-445 – ILIJAŠ ROAD
Work has commenced on the reconstruction of the section of the R-445 road passing through Ilijaš. 1,118 metres of road surface will be reconstructed. The project envisions a complete reconstruction of the full width and length of the upper layers (replacement of the existing subbase, pavement, kerbs, and drainage systems). The time for completion is 60 days. Presently the workers are replacing kerb stones and reconstructing the right slotted pipe drain.
VIJENAC TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The construction tasks Euro-Asfalt is in charge for are progressing according to schedule. As of the 31st of May, 2012, excavations and primary formwork setting have reached 723.4 metres for the top heading, 467 metres for the left-side bench, and 469 metres of the right-side bench. Excavation of foundations is also under way, reaching 396 metres on the right side and 348 metres on the left side.
The excavation of the left-side invert arch has reached 336 metres, and the right-side 372 metres. 16.1 metres of the pedestrian cross-passage between the tubes has been built so far. Below you may find the latest photo updates from the construction site.
RENOVATION OF “SARAJEVO ROSES”
An agreement on the renovation, reconstruction and protection of “Sarajevo roses” was signed on the 25th of May in Sarajevo. “Sarajevo roses” mark the craters left by mortar shells fired during the aggression. The agreement was signed by Sarajevo Canton Minister for Veterans Nedžad Ajnadžić and Euro-Asfalt Chief Operating Officer Enver Ajanović.
